Morgan Sindall wins £130m contract


Client Brief

Bidding for major structural works involves working within very strict guidelines. The ‘closed door presentation process’ dictates that all of the companies bidding must leave their proposals in a room in plain packaging. The deciding party then assesses each bid in isolation.
With many of these projects being worth more than £100 million, it is clearly imperative that what goes into that plain package has as much positive impact as possible. Without the benefit of a face-to-face presentation, your bid must do all the talking and persuade the assessors that you are the ones for their major project.
Morgan Sindall, a leading UK construction business, wanted something different for a recent bid and decided that they would create a video tender. The problem was how to get this video presented in a closed bidding process; they approached Print Strategy to help.

Deliverables

Firstly, we set about finding a display screen small enough and light enough to fit into the package. Next we engineered a presentation box that would seal the unit inside, would look fantastic and create a huge impact.

Outcomes

The bid assessors simply removed the screen from the plain box and pressed the on-screen start button to watch and listen to the video presentation. They also received the official tender documentation. We’re delighted to say that Morgan Sindall were awarded the £130 million contract, crediting Print Strategy as a major factor for the tender’s success.
